The Circle Season 3 Is Here. Meet the Cast (and the Catfishes).

Reality TV fans can rejoice—The Circle is back for a third season on Netflix.

Season 3 of the original influencer-inspired game, in which a group of strangers fight it out for a chance at popularity and $100,000, will most definitely surprise viewers. And while the cast doesn’t find out whether they’re speaking to a real person or a catfish until the very end of the competition, the lucky audience is in on every deceit from the beginning. It’s time to pick a side and place your bets on who the best influencer will be in this season’s Circle.

Here’s what you need to know about The Circle Season 3’s cast members, from the undeniable Big Nick Energy to some terrifyingly good catfish.

Kai, 28, Nashville

Playing as herself.

Hailing from Nashville, now located in Los Angeles, singer-songwriter Kai is about to be an instant favorite in The Circle Season 3. After attending Nashville School of the Arts, Kai launched her music career, and already has a real-life Instagram following of over 10,000 people. Kai somehow manages to remain levelheaded throughout her time on the show, and her Circle strategy can be best described as authentic—catfish need not apply.

Ruksana, 35, New Jersey

Playing as herself.

Wife and mother-of-one Ruksana has to be one of the most likable contestants The Circle has ever seen. From her budding friendships with Kai and Daniel, to the sage advice she’s able to offer her fellow influencers, Ruksana is a joy to watch. Proving that family comes first, Ruksana has a YouTube channel with her husband, and manages an Instagram profile for her daughter. She also previously appeared on Family Feud, and it seems likely this won’t be the last we see of her on our screens.

Calvin, 30, Miami

Playing as himself.

Expect to be charmed by multi-hyphenate Calvin, who just so happens to be a private chef, a personal trainer, and a nutritionist. The vegetarian calls Miami home, and viewers are bound to notice that Calvin is pretty easy on the eyes. In fact, he may even have caught the attention of a fellow contestant, so expect flirting galore. Bookings for his cuisine are about to go through the roof.

Michelle, 52, South Carolina

Playing as herself.

Comedian Michelle makes quite the impact on her fellow contestants by taking a firm stance on (checks notes) kissing dogs on the mouth. The stand-up has more than 755,000 followers on TikTok, and she describes her routines as having a “hint of naughty” in them. But Michelle’s time in The Circle isn’t just about the one-liners, especially when it comes to exposing catfish. Prepare for some shocks and surprises.

Matthew, 25, Long Island

Playing as “Ashley.”

Entering The Circle as a catfish, 25-year-old Matthew decided to play the game using his best friend’s identity. According to his Instagram account, in real life Matthew is epileptic, a baby vegan, a personal trainer, and “offended by oatmeal raisin cookies posing as chocolate chip.” Despite partaking in the game as a catfish, Matthew’s, or should I say Ashley’s, journey feels pretty damn relatable.

Nick, 27, Seattle

Playing as himself.

Get ready for some Big Nick Energy. Season 3’s self-proclaimed heartthrob stirs up plenty of drama in The Circle, especially when it comes to his romantic inclinations. Currently based in Austin, Texas, Nick enters the show as a drummer, despite being a product manager at Microsoft. After luring the other contestants into a false sense of security, Nick proves just how good he is at networking. And if his Instagram is anything to go by, he enjoys posing topless quite a bit, too.

Daniel, 20, Florida

Playing as himself.

Even though he’s the youngest player in the game, Daniel’s hot takes will have you howling every episode. Even better is the fact that many of Daniel’s lightning-fast quips are laced with self-deprecating truths, showing that it’s possible to be both vulnerable and hilarious while battling strangers for $100,000. His Twitter account boasts, “I almost failed a class due to the High School Musical reunion.” Same, TBH.

Ava, 25, Los Angeles (and her sister, Chanel)

Playing as Ava.

Joining The Circle as a duo, sisters Ava and Chanel are hoping to use their joint social media prowess to clamor their way to the penthouse. If Ava looks familiar to you, that’s because she was a contestant on Season 22 of America’s Next Top Model. Her sister, Chanel, is a writer, producer, and actress, who helps manage Ava’s career. Talk about double trouble.

Sophia Layne, 22, Florida

Playing as Isabella.

Alabama native Sophia is a student based in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. On The Circle, she decided to play as her sister, Isabella, citing her sibling’s looks and ability to flirt with men as key factors in stealing her profile. Unsurprisingly, Nick was pretty taken with Isabella, so Sophia’s evil plan worked pretty much immediately. In reality, Sophia is happily loved-up with girlfriend Leigh, and the pair celebrated their three year anniversary in July.

Rachel Ward, 24, Los Angeles

Playing as Jackson.

Self-confessed “bro” and fan of dad bods, Rachel decided to enter The Circle catfishing as Jackson. Rachel, a marketing manager at an ad agency, is playing as her friend’s boyfriend who works in the same profession, because men get a slightly better deal online. Rachel already has a Cameo account, and has been raising awareness for suicide prevention, abortion access, and Black Lives Matter. Rachel entered The Circle single, but will she be leaving that way?

James Andre Jefferson Jr., 30, Los Angeles

Playing as himself (but single).

The contestant with the “confidence of Tom Cruise” is a stand-up comedian and DJ, because as James notes in his intro, comedy doesn’t always pay. With more than 468,000 Instagram followers and 68,000 YouTube subscribers, James has been building his platform for quite some time before joining The Circle. He celebrated his thirteenth anniversary with fiancée Brittany Brown in August; back in February, she wrote on Instagram, “Yes he’s loud and plays too much but one thing he don’t play bout is me.” James’ star is already on the rise as he recently shared a video with Megan Thee Stallion.

The Circle launched on Netflix on September 8, with new episodes dropping on September 15 and 22, with the finale set for September 29.
